MAKE THE SHIFT TO 100% RENEWABLE ENERGY

The power of wind

The two turbines known as Gale and Gusto have been offsetting the town of Daylesford since 2011. Producing enough clean energy to power 2,100 homes these two 2.05MW turbines have become an iconic part of the Hepburn Shire.

How does wind energy work?

Wind turbines are straightforward, usually with three blades designed to catch the wind and turn. The blades’ motion turns the rotor connected to a shaft, which spins a generator creating electricity.

The turbines generate around 89% of the time and generally have the lowest output in the middle of the day, which is why Hepburn Energy started investigating solar to complement our existing generation.
